Episode 39: Meanwhile Back in France

The Earl of Salisbury is killed outside the walls of Orleans. Salisbury has just taken the Tourelles, a fortified bridge across the Loire River from Orleans, when he was hit by shrapnel caused by cannon-fire. The death of Salisbury forced the Duke of Bedford to reevaluate the siege of Orleans altogether.

While Philip was occupied in Hainault, Holland, and Zeeland the Hundred Years War still raged in France. The steady advance of the English continues while the Dauphinists, consumed by internal conflict, attempt to stem the tide.
